The city of Grado
Hovering between the land and the sea, Isola del Sole is a charming seaside village caressed by a pristine seaside, a Blue Flag for decades. As early as Roman times, this place was highly valued as a seaport of call for the important city of Aquileia. Its lagoon, dotted with islets, is a captivating place with unique unspoilt nature, perfect to explore on a boat trip. Those who enjoy water sports can take part in windsurfing, sailing, rowing and kitesurfing in Grado’s clear waters.
Grado is also a paradise for two-wheelers, ideal to discover by bicycle. The extensive network of cycle paths allows cyclists to comfortably explore the central area and venture further inland, reaching the two Unesco World Heritage cities of Aquileia and Palmanova, or visiting the protected Nature Reserves of Valle Cavanata and Foce dell’Isonzo-Isola della Cona.
